Albert, Lake also Albert Ny·an·za (nī-ănʹzə, nyänʹ-) Formerly also Mo·bu·to Lake (mō-bo͞oʹtō).
A shallow lake of east-central Africa in the Great Rift Valley on the border between Uganda and Congo (formerly Zaire). It was discovered in 1864 by Sir Samuel Baker and named for Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's consort.
