SPCK

(in full the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge)
a British organization that was established in 1698 to provide religious education for children in Britain and for people in the British Empire. Today it is mainly concerned with publishing the Bible and other religious books, and selling them in its own shops in Britain. The SPCK still sends people to some African and Asian countries to teach Christianity.
