Fort Ticonderoga

an American fort built as Fort Carillon by the French in 1755 in north-east New York State. British forces captured it in 1759 in the French and Indian War, and named it Fort Ticonderoga. During the American Revolution, it was captured in 1775 by the Green Mountain Boys led by Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen, but the British under General John Burgoyne took it again in 1777. It is now a museum.
